Storm in the Heart

The mirror in the storm reflects my heart
Turning in the turmoil of life’s rough dark.
Passion aside the anguish it feels through
Does nothing more than make emotions move.
Quiet, no, the storm inside my heart rages
Forever embracing the lost realm of mazes.
The mazes that hold the confusion within
Causing my heart to rain in their virtue and sin.
So how do you calm a raging storm in the heart
When it’s lost from the light and deep in dark?
By finding the peace that’s in the storm’s eye
And finding the center that has once passed by.

The Folly of Love

Tags

Nothing is better nor more sweeter than love
It’s purity in the purest form that can be
The Poets are enthralled by it, the Philosophers
Cannot spin their head around it, so why does it
Bother me?
Maybe love is for all of them but not for me,
For I want to love myself first before I fall
After all, how can I make the one I love
Happy if I’m not able to be happy?
That is love’s folly.
Love may appear from the dark or the day
But it doesn’t seem to consider feelings
Of those who wish to remain alone
For love should come when one’s ready
Not because love wishes it.

Writing 101 Day 5: Be Brief

The letter was left on the floor; the words in the letter were something she didn’t think would happen. In fact, she knew it couldn’t be true despite the paper she picked back up and held in her hands. The words within them were not only good news but the best news.

Holding it with trembling hands and tears that she never knew were falling, she couldn’t help but smile.

Her dream would become a reality. It might take many years for it to happen but the letter was proof it would. Having worked so hard for the scholarship she pressed it close to her heart, to remember what a dream turning into reality felt like.

Writing 101 Day 4: III. The Tree’s Winters

From buds, to flowers now to no more
The cold chill of winter showed it’s scorn
For the tree, once full of friends now lies
Dormant in it’s forever lonely state.
The tree watched all it’s friends disappear
Vanish into the wind or wither to the ground,
But they had so much fun in the spring and
in the summer, but when autumn came
The winter made it all grow dimmer.
Desolate through it’s dormant state
Hiding through slumber for time to waste
Taking no account for the days that were
For when will the spring come again?
When will the spring return?

Writing 101 Day 4: II. The Tree’s Fall

The spring and summertime of the tree
Were memories the tree enjoyed the most
For the tree had little buds that blossomed
Into beautiful large flowers that in turn grew.
Yet as the summertime left along with spring
The tree noticed his friends slowly began to leave
One by one through different methods such as
The wind pushing them away or they withered.
The tree did not think much of this for its friends
Were loyal and would stick by the tree’s trunks.
Yet one windy day, with the clouds turning dark
The little tree noticed how the flowers fell
Whenever the wind pushed them they left
Leaving the little tree to have less of them.
The cold wind creates the limbs to shudder,
But the young tree does not understand why
Its friends are leaving when they were so happy
Why they have found somewhere better to go.

I. The Tree’s Spring

A lonely tree stood in a field, it stood alone through winter
But when the spring started anew it had more than limbs
That adorned it; it had little buds that peeked out
Of the purest form of white that shined under the sun.
The little tree was delighted with what it had grown
It had turned away from the lonely winter by
Going into the spring that it never knew it could.
Spring was a season the little tree enjoyed
As it watched its buds become part of it
And they have become more than just
Attachments adorned on the little tree
In fact the little tree found itself through
The little buds that appeared so suddenly.
If the little buds would remain then the tree
Didn’t mind at all what would come for it
Was no longer lonely, it had many friends.

Stardust, sung by Nat King Cole

A song that is dear to me because it brings out a poetic sense within. It has words that transcribe into a field of dreams, and it plays with the mind’s senses. No matter what, find this song to be the best of the best when I need some inspiration in a musical sense. After all, music can be it’s own inspiration for writing and this little sweet melancholy song helps with inspiration. No matter what I find it amusing that a song such as this can create so much muse for me. I enjoy it, I embrace the meldou as if it were my own. I try not to disengage from the sweetness the song brings, nor the richness of the coive when I write. Because it is a song that has so much meaning and feeling within it that I find it hard to gnore.

We’re Not Gonna Take it, sung by Twisted Sister

Why is this an important song for me? Well, I have been through so much in life that everyone needs a song that can feel you. This song is the song that does it for me. Whenever I am mad or I feel that people are doing too much against me I blast out We’re Not Gonna Take It and I jam out my feelings. Even though it maybe a song that not many would consider an important song to them, this one has been withim me through the thick and thin of life. Through trying times it has conquered my bad feelings by making me realize that I don’t have to take it, nor do I have to accept it. I mean I do accept reality quite often despite people calling me a visionary, but I find that the music and the song helps me feel relaxed about the situation, or at the least empowered. I find it a fun song to sing at times too. Something that I push forward through this song too are my own feelings. It represents what I feel when I’m angry and I don’t want to take it. So fi you’re ver ever feeling bad about this or that then you can find that th song will resonate often the trying times you’re feeling.

Modern Crusaders sung by Enigma

Okay, this is probably the oddest song yet of the three. I enjoy the French New Age group Enigma, they were the first badn I ever bought a CD from. Seriously, I bought Enigma when I was in middle school and had gotten enough money to buy my first CD. They are very meaningiful to me because I know without them I wouldn’t of been able to get into the New Age genre that is a he big super collasal part of me. I know that while the band itself may not seem to be as big as Madonna o Lady Gaga, I find them more inspirational. This song in particular was from the first CD I bought, ironically it was their greatest hits called L.S.D and no it’s not about the drug, trust me, I read the CD’s actuall titale. Itwa s something that I enjoyed on a daily basis when I was young and I loved how kind of Matrix-like it sounded. I wonder if Matrix had the song in thir soundtrack because if not it should’ve been in there. So as you can see this song and the group are important because they introduced me to a genre that I only knew one person in and that was because my mom liked him, jean Michel Jarre…I am nto sure I spelled that write. But anyway I really find this song inspirational. Whenever I need to just chill out and think about the good ol’ music times I listen to this. I even could sing a big part of the words…okay I can’t because I have bad memory when it comes to music sometimes, but I do love it.

These three songs are important to me. They have different meanings, but in the end they are all inspirational. I find that these three might b odd combinations, but I really do find them to be the best part of me at times. Even if one of the songs is through some parts that may seem the worst. However, whenever I need something, a or a change in emotions, I play the music mentioned here. Of course there are many other songs, but I chose these three because thy are the ones that I feel the most strongly about. I feel that these songs have been with me fo r many years, actually they have been and I feel that because of it I find a sense of nostalgia with them. I could have chosen other songs with more meaning in them but honestly each song is pretty amazing in their own right. They might not tell fo god, or some epic romance, or some die hard feeling in them, but for me they do all that and more.

Cast a cold eye
     On life, on death.
     Horseman, pass by!

There is a place, close to my heart, with memories abundant.
The cold beaches, the bustling city that brought joy.
A place where the dead Yeats resided in peace
Overlooking Ben Bulben that stood proud and tall.
The ocean’s roar on the beach drowned out the city life
The church bells near Yeats’ grave rang with all their might.
Returning to the city that brought happiness and smiles
Would be a dream come true and totally worthwhile.
The smell of the wild flowers that grew alongside homes
Wisteria, Lilies and others that made themselves overgrown.
Through the bedroom breakfast where we stayed the magic overflowed
Returning to this place that brought smiles, laughter and adventure
Would be a dream come true as it felt like home away from home.
Sligo, a place where my summer had found it’s endless days
Even though we had only stayed there for a whole day
Moving on to find places nearby that were just as magical
Like Kylemore Abbey, a store selling beautiful crystals and gems
It was an area of Ireland that I’ll never be able to forget.
Imprinted in my mind, it would be the place I would return
No other place on earth or space would I yearn for.
If you could only see the beauty that city and nature had
For Sligo was a beauty in itself that gave inspiration.

White fluffy clouds floating in the sky
Floating on by while dreams pass by
Distancing themselves from the start
Exploring the world together or apart
Never once stopping always going
Never once stopping even if slowing
Ever flying across the big wide world
Swirling about with every windy twirl
Gliding along through their adventure
Not even minding a misadventure
To be a cloud to explore the world
Would be adventures unfurled
Adventures that create memories

Writing 101: Darkness Within

Tags

,

There are thoughts within my mind that become tainted. They are impure thoughts that have seen the darkness that reality has created. Through this chaotic mind there are unreal images that are unseen by all. Unseen to even the loved ones of my heart.

Whether these thoughts prove to be anything more than imagination’s dusty dreams, it’s hard to tell. Sometimes they feel so real that I become the villain of my nightmares. Other times they are the world seen within my darkest part of my soul. Where does the light shine n these depressing times? Who knows for sure.

One thing I know is that when light shines upon my soul and interrupts the darkness surrounding it, I can find myself causing something to happen, something to keep things from swirling around in chaos. Becoming a form of purity that has braced itself for an enriching line of poetic rising.

Whether I fall from this rise like Icarus to the sun depends on how hard I believe in the possibility that the darkness within are just scattered hidden bits of light. Just like how dusts covers up the most exciting of treasures, or how the brush of a painting has yet to create it’s masterpiece.

My muse ceases to amaze me when it pops up from these shadows. At first they are frightening, but then become the light needed to guide my soul. Whether it is for myself or for others that is undecided even to me, but what I do know is that the world is different in the way it collides it’s creative approaches.

I may not be a creator of certain tastes, but I am a creator who tries to be open to all tastes. You never know what you can do unless you try, otherwise it is a futile attempt in tasting the world’s richest forms of inspiration.

Never disown an idea, improve upon it. Whether the darkness frightens you or the light engulfs you, embrace it and see where it leads you. Or unlike Frost who says to take the path less taken, perhaps take the old familiar road to find that spark in the dark.

Just realize that nothing is perfect and that imperfection could be something desirable. After all, we are all human of imperfection. If we were all created the same then wouldn’t our thought process be the same as well? None of the things that bring us joy would since the joy would be the same tiring boring dullness that we enjoy.

Difference is a spark that  we sometimes do not accept but if we consistently reject it then how do we get away from the darkness that tries to devour us whole? if we fight back and learn to take control of the differences within us then couldn’t we become our own versions of perfected imperfection?

It must be confusing for people to decide whether or not to embrace the light r dark side of their mind. But as it goes with creation, one can never have light without darkness and light can never be without darkness. Sort of like how love and hatred are parallels of each other, so too are light and darkness.

Yet in time the world will find it’s center, the balance that makes it unique because of all it’s differences. The world will learn to accept the fact we all have darkness within just as we do light. After all, it’s not just about fighting against the control of them within ourselves, but learning to live with them in peace.
